RoadTrip: PCT: add Anza Borrego meetup 3/17-27

8PM 3/7/2012
Hey Gary.
Have fun. Cindy, Penny and I will be down in Anza Borego sometime on the 17th. and staying until the 22nd. My cell phone is... if you should be down there at the same time. I don't think there will be many flowers this year but it is an interesting place to see. Lots of big horn sheep to photograph.

I think it is great that you are going on traveling adventures. What fun.  Keep us posted. Start a blog!!!!!
Happy trails. Pat

Oh... I guess I will have to meet up with you-all, groupie that I
am...   Will complicate the already conflicted aims of myself and
Sandy (she has to be back in Moss Beach somewhere around that time, and also wants to
visit someone at "Slab City" east of the Salton Sea - I'm trying NOT
to wander that far east!)

What parts of Anza Borrego are you expecting to explore?  (I will be
trying to mostly be at the west rim of the park - There is one notable
point where the PCT crosses near the intersection of hwy 78 & S2
("Scissors Crossing") which is just a few miles north of Blair Valley
where I think we've stayed on a past CNPS trip.  The PCT comes down
from the Laguna Mt ridge to there, and then winds through the San Felipe
Hills north of there.  That's one of the sections of the trail I want
to do while the weather is still cool.

Hey Sandy,
Assuming you might be interested in meeting up with Pat & Cindy &
Penny as well, the question is how you could do that and Slab City at
the same time.  Until this came up I had been assuming we'd likely try
to stay together then part ways towards the end, but that  doesn't
quite fit well with being near Blair Valley on or after the 17th. So
maybe it might work to split up first, then try to meet up in Anza
Borrego after you've gone to Slab City?  Obvious other alternative is
not to try to add this to our agenda...

OR!!!!!! you could persuade them to go to Slab City with you, and
leave me to "go take a hike"...  Shoot, why did I have to think of
that!

See you soon (maybe before you've even read this...
-Gary
