Hi Gary. All is well. Peter is opening up. I called Wendy and she would have too. No panic (haha) Looking forward to our trip. It is raining raining here. Rain in the desert I here. We were going to stop by Carrizo. Was everything dried up? Any flowers at all? P

Hi Pat,
Carrizzo was pretty dry with just a few blooms, but I only took a short
walk the morning after getting there after dark. The (longer) walks I
took at PCT trailheads on the way down to Anza B also were rather
sparse, but those were at higher elevations, mostly. The first few
days in the lower desert were likewise rather colorless (but I was
mainly focused on navigating (walked a bit of the trail at Scissors
Crossing (S2 & Hwy78) and then a drive over Laguna Mt to LK Moreno and
then walked around a bit near the border at Campo.
But then the last two days the bloom really picked up around Blair Valley campground and on an overnight
backpack hike I took on the PCT around Granite Mt towards Mt Laguna. I
got some good picts I think, but haven't yet had a chance to sort thru
them.
So when are you planning to come down here? and were? I've been
staying at Blair Vly CG mostly and may stay there thru the storm,
though I may also go down to Lk Moreno & Campo and do that stretch of
the PCT - especially if you are gonna delay your arrival or otherwise
dont expect to connect over the weekend.

Hi Gary. You have been lucky and had the best weather. Looks like it will be cooler and showers soon. Still be nice to get away. Penny is bringing her computer so I can check my email. It poured here all day yesterday and last night. Amazing. We are going down 101 and then over to Palmdale to 15 to 79 out of Temecula. I grew up in Murrieta just 11 from Temecula. Sometime when you are down there check out the Santa Rosa Plateau. Nice vernal pools, oaks etc.

We are staying at the Palm Canyon Resort 221 Palm Canyon Drive Borrego All in one room....cozy.
Find all the flowers for us. haha Pat

Pat,
Oh, so you must already be there - and probably enjoying the sunshine
before it ends this evening. I'm at the Stagecoach Trails Store
(waiting for my laundry to finish - got a $5 day-pass at this RV
campground to take a shower, etc.) It's on S2 between Blair Valley
CG and the "scissors Crossing" intersection with hwy 78.
It will take me at least another half hr to get thru my emails & fold
the laundry...
Gary
